Iceland Have teamed up with UK’s most popular slimming organization known as “Slimming World” to select together the easy, yummy, delicious and nutritious syn free food. The list includes eight delicious syn free foods that has been planned under the concept of “Slimming World Free Foods” which can be eaten as our everyday delicious food. You don’t have to be paid member of the Slimming World Program to Enjoy these yummy meals. Syn Free Food – Pork Sausages (in bags)

I understand there are a variety of sausages you could have that are surprisingly low syns on Slimming World however I like getting just as much free food when I can I prefer to try various things and recipes and so I just put this little recipe together to create my very own Syn Free Sausages plus they honestly taste just like an effective Lincolnshire sausage too, the secret gets the quantity of herbal treatments perfect 🙂

It’s a rather easy recipe and doesn’t take lengthy to complete either and makes around 16 sizeable sausages. The very best bit is I wrap them in bacon medallions for added flavor and also to bind the sausage together therefore it doesn’t break apart. It’s my job to perform a batch of those after which divide them into freezer bags to create 4-6 foods because there are 3 people. Below is the recipe for syn free sausages:
Ingredients
• 2lbs extra lean pork mince (Tesco’s sell this)
• 4-5 tsp of sage (from Schwartz)
• Salt
• Pepper
• 16 Bacon medallions ( 2 packs x 8 no fat)
Instructions
1. Take a large square dish
2. Put the mince into the dish – separate the mince as you do this
3. Add 2½ tsp of sage and mixed by hand
4. Add another 2½ tsp of sage and mix well
5. Add salt & pepper and mix all the ingredients together
6. Ensure you are happy with consistency and there are no meat clumps 🙂
7. Divide the mince mixture into 16 similar sized balls
8. Then roll the ball in your hand to make a “normal” sized sausage
9. If they are a bit thin don’t worry they bloat in the oven 🙂
10. Take your bacon medallions and wrap one around each sausage
11. Spray a baking tray with a little fry light
12. Place the sausages onto the tray and cook for 20 mins turning half way through
13. Once cooked serve together with a Sunday fry up (like my picture)
14. Or mash or whatever you choose – Enjoy – I love this syn free food.

Syn Free Food – Chilli and Coriander Beef Quarter Pounders Recipe

Ingredients

• low calorie cooking spray
• 1/2 small onion, finely chopped
• 1/2 small red pepper, deseeded and finely chopped
• 1 large garlic clove, crushed
• 1 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
• 1 tsp chilli flakes
• 1 tsp dried oregano
• 500g lean mince beef (5% fat or less)
• 1/2 tsp salt
• 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
• 15g fresh coriander, freshly chopped

Method

Preheat the grill to medium.
Spray a non-stick frying pan with low calorie cooking spray and place over a medium heat. Add the onion and red pepper and stir fry for 5 minutes to soften, then stir in the garlic, paprika, chilli and oregano and cook for 30 seconds. Tip into a mixing bowl to cool then add in the remaining ingredients. Mix well with your hands, divide the mixture into four portions and shape each one into a patty.
Put the burgers on to the grill pan and grill at the furthest point from the heat for 20 minutes or until cooked through, turning halfway. Reduce the heat if the burgers are cooking too quickly. Serve hot with salad.

Syn Free Food – Sweet Potato Curry Recipe

Here’s the recipe if you’d like to make the same Iceland meal from scratch at home: succulent chunks of sweet potato with red peppers and spinach in a fragrant curry sauce.

Ingredients

• 1kg sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks
• 2 large red peppers, deseeded and cut into chunks, plus ½ red pepper, deseeded and finely chopped
• Low calorie cooking spray
• Salt and freshly ground black pepper
• 1 large onion, finely chopped
• 6 garlic cloves, crushed
• 25g root ginger, peeled and finely chopped
• ½ tsp hot chilli powder
• 1 heaped tbsp ground coriander
• 1 heaped tsp ground cumin
• 1 tsp paprika
• 2 tsp curry powder
• 1 tsp tandoori masala spice mix
• 1 tsp turmeric
• 3 heaped tbsp tomato puree
• 160g baby leaf spinach
• 100g fat free natural yogurt
• Small handful of chopped, fresh coriander
• 1 tsp sweetener

Method

Preheat the oven to 220°C/Fan°200/Gas 7.
Put the sweet potatoes and pepper chunks in a large non-stick roasting tin, spray with low calorie cooking spray, season to taste and toss together. Roast for 15-20 minutes, turning halfway, until the sweet potatoes are cooked but holding their shape and roasted at the edges. Keep warm.
Meanwhile, spray a large non-stick frying pan with low calorie cooking spray and fry the onion and finely chopped pepper for 10 minutes, adding a little water if they start to stick.
Stir in the garlic, ginger and all the spices and cook for 1-2 minutes. Season to taste and add the tomato puree and 700ml of boiling water, then bring to the boil over a high heat. Turn the heat to medium and cook for 15 minutes, adding the spinach 2 minutes before the end of cooking.
Remove from the heat and stir in the yogurt, fresh coriander and sweetener. Add the roasted vegetables and gently mix together. Check the seasoning before serving with your favourite rice. Enjoy!

There is no doubt that Syn Free Chicken Tikka Masala has became Britain’s one of the most favourite. Because it is Irresistible and mouth watering. And in our recipe we have used tender chunks of marinated chicken breast are grilled on skewers for extra flavour. Best of all, you’ll save 14½ Syns.
Ingredients

• Juice of 1 lime
• 150g fat free natural yogurt
• 5 tbsp tikka curry powder
• Salt and freshly ground black pepper
• 4 skinless and boneless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
• Low calorie cooking spray
• 1 onion, grated
• 4 garlic cloves, crushed
• 2cm piece of root ginger, peeled and grated
• 1 red chilli, deseeded and chopped
• 1 tsp ground cinnamon
• 1 tsp ground cumin
• 6 tbsp tomato purée
• 5 tbsp fat free natural fromage frais
• Small handful of roughly chopped fresh coriander, to garnish
Method

In a large dish, mix together the lime juice, yogurt and 3 tablespoons of the tikka curry powder. Season well, then add the chicken and toss to coat well. Marinate in the fridge for 4 hours or overnight if time permits.
When you’re ready to cook, preheat the grill to medium.
Spray a large non-stick frying pan with low calorie cooking spray and place over a medium heat. Add the onion, garlic, ginger, chilli, cinnamon, cumin and remaining tikka curry powder and fry for 2-3 minutes. Stir in the tomato purée and 250ml of water. Bring to the boil, reduce the heat to low and simmer for 12-15 minutes, stirring often.
Meanwhile, thread the chicken pieces on to metal skewers, spray with low calorie cooking spray and grill for 12-15 minutes or until cooked through, turning occasionally. Remove the chicken from the skewers and stir into the sauce. Take the sauce off the heat, stir in the fromage frais and scatter over the coriander.
Serve this syn free food hot with rice of your choice.

INGREDIENTS
• 2 nests Medium Egg Noodles
• 1 tsp Fresh Ginger chopped
• 1 tsp Fresh Chilli chopped
o Onion chopped
• 5 spring onion chopped
• Muscle Food Chicken Breast diced
• tbsp Soy Sauce
• tbsp Rice Vinegar
o Bell Peppers 1 Red, 1 Yellow cut into strips
o Mushrooms chopped into chunks
• Pak Choi chopped
• tsp Madras Powder
• 1 handful Raw Prawns
• Egg made into an omelette
INSTRUCTIONS
1 Pour boiling water over the noodles and leave to soften
2 Mist the wok with Frylight, add ginger, chilli, garlic, onion and half the spring
3 Cook until the onions are soft
4 Add chicken and cook for 5 minutes
5 Stir in soy sauce and rice vinegar
6 Add peppers and mushrooms. Cook for 3 minutes
7 Add the curry powder and stir well
8 Add pak choi and prawns and cook for another 2 or 3 minutes
9 Stir in the chopped omelette and stir.
10 Add the drained noodles. Stir until noodles are incorporated and coated
11 Serve sprinkled with remaining spring onions

Ingredients

• Low calorie cooking spray
• 2 red onions, sliced
• 750g very lean braising steak, visible fat removed, cut into 2½ cm cubes
o white onion, roughly chopped
o garlic cloves, roughly chopped
• 1 beef stock cube
• 1 heaped tbsp tomato purée
• 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
• Salt and freshly ground black pepper
• 500g peeled carrots, roughly chopped
• 500g peeled swede, roughly chopped
• Finely chopped fresh thyme leaves, to garnish
Method

Preheat the oven to 160°C/Fan140°C/Gas 3
Spray an ovenproof casserole pan with low calorie cooking spray and fry the red onions for 10 minutes until slightly caramelised, adding a little water if needed. Remove from the pan then spray the pan again with low calorie spray and brown the meat in batches.
Meanwhile place the white onion and garlic in a food processor and whizz until finely chopped.
Stir the cooked red onions back into the meat with the puréed onion and garlic, stock cube, tomato purée, balsamic vinegar and 500ml of water. Season and bring to the boil.
Cover and cook in the oven for around 2 hours or until the meat is really tender.
About 30 minutes before the meat is cooked, cook the carrots and swede in lightly salted boiling water for 25-30 minutes or until soft. Drain, mash together and season.
Check the seasoning of the meat, scatter over the thyme and serve with the vegetable crush. And Enjoy this syn free food!

Syn Free Spaghetti & Spicy Meatballs Recipe

Ingredients for the meatballs

• Minced pork less than 5% fat

• Minced beef less than 5% fat

o egg

• a clove of garlic

• garlic powder

• dried basil

• salt

• pepper

• tomato purée

• Worcester sauce

• dried chilli flakes

• Ingredients for the sauce

• chopped onions

• Salt

• minced garlic

• a fresh chilli

• chopped mushrooms

• beef oxo

o tins of tomatoes

• Tomato purée

• Worcester sauce

• pepper

• bay leaf

• optional

• beef stock cube (makes it richer)

• cornflour dissolved in either cold water or milk (this will give you a thicker sauce but you will need to add syns)

Method

1. first I make the meatballs by combining all the ingredients in a large and mix together

2. Then shape in to balls however big or small you’d like then pop them in a hot oven to brown

3. mean while chop your onion as much as you can be bothered to chop if you want them chunky do them chunky or you can finely dice, sweat these down with a little salt until they’re transparent, then throw in the garlic, mushrooms and chilli and cook for a little

4. Then crumble in an oxo cube

5. Now the veg are nice and soft put in all the other ingredients and then add the meatballs from the oven

6. At this point you can cook this for as long as you want I recommend you leave it at least 30 mins just to reduce and to let the flavours develop

7. only thing left to do is to cook your pasta and serve (any cheese added with either need to be part of your healthy extra or counted as syns)

Spicy meatballs with a tomatoe sauce and pasta!

Ingredients:
(Meatballs)
• 500g extra lean mince
• 2 eggs (beaten)
o onions (chopped finely)
• 1 hot chilli (chopped finely)
• 1 romano pepper or 1 red pepper (chopped)
• salt & pepper
• 1 garlic clove (minced)
• Low call cooking spray

Sauce:
• 400ml passata
• half can of chopped tomatoes
o garlic clove
• half an onion (chopped)
• 1/4 tsp of chilli powder
• salt & peppert
• tsp worchester sauce

Method

1. Combine meat,eggs,pepper,chilli,garlic & onion together until well mixed together. take about 2 tbsp of mixture and form into balls until all mixture has been used up.

2. Fry meatballs in low cal spray until brown on all sides. Take off the heat and put into a bowl.

3. For the sauce i take all my ingredient and pop into a pan and simmer for about 5-10 mins. Then i put my meat balls back into the pan for another 15mins untill cooked through!
4. Whilst this is cooking i take either spaghetti or tagliatelli and cook in a pan of boiling water.
